Here at Pure Body Logix, we know a thing or two about goal setting and new year’s resolutions and we’d like to share it with you. We’ll walk through the do’s and don’ts and how to plan new year’s resolutions that will be easy to keep and will benefit you in the long run.
The Big Problem
New Year’s Resolutions are popular at the beginning of a new year, as people often take advantage of the changing year to have a fresh new start, and redeem or do better than last year. But, what is usually not taken into consideration when writing down their goals for the new year is their old selves.
Let’s talk about eating healthier. Most people, want to take an extreme turn into dieting or healthy eating, that often makes them quit before they see any results. This is because we get used the things we eat, it brings us comfort and happiness. And if you take all of it away in one try, keeping a diet or eating healthier will bring us misery. To make matters worse people are often impatient and want to see results right away, and the lack of such results will make them quit. This makes dieting and eating healthier a whole lot harder.
The same is true for exercising or being active. It’s commonplace for people to make their New Year’s Resolution revolve around exercising and it’s even more common for people that don’t already exercise say that they will. But if they aren’t already exercising or being active, missing the couch or favorite tv shows will often sink the boat. If it’s not already a habit, then chances are it won’t become one overnight.
We are not saying it’s impossible to quit something cold turkey, we are just pointing out some of the reasons these resolutions fail.
The Solution
To make your New Year’s Resolution or Goal Setting isn’t as hard as people may think it to be, instead, there are simple things that can be done, to ensure a successful achievement of a resolution or goal.
Write down your goal, and think big. Don’t limit yourself by taking the easy way out, instead think about the things that you have always wanted. Then once you write down your resolution or goal, write down the steps in which it can be achieved.
Braking your goal down into steps, is a crucial part of achieving your goal, as it will facilitate the journey. Start by writing down the easiest thing you can live without or one small thing you can do to better things. Then you write down the different things you will have to do in incremental steps in order to achieve the goal.

But once you start, you cannot stop. Even if you have to cheat, and add steps in between the steps, always work towards your goal. Do something every day to take you towards your goal. This will create a habit and little by little you will get closer to your goal. Share your progress with others, and have them participate. We believe in you.
